Stevenson is pleased to announce that University Trustee Barbara Bozzuto and her husband Thomas Bozzuto have committed a $150,000 gift in support of the university鈥檚 new Performing Arts Center project. Construction of the Performing Arts Center will begin in 2024, and the Center鈥檚 Box Office will be named for the Bozzutos in honor of their gift.

Barbara and Thomas Bozzuto have been active business and community leaders in Baltimore for more than 30 years. Barbara has served on Stevenson鈥檚 Board of Trustees since 2021 and has previously served on the boards of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, St. Agnes Hospital, Enoch Pratt Free Library, and WYPR Radio. She has had a lengthy career in event promotion, public relations, and marketing, including as president of Bozzuto-Lowenstein Marketing, Executive Director for the Maryland Sports Corporation, and Director of the Baltimore Office of Promotion, among other positions.

Thomas Bozzuto is Chair and Co-Founder of The Bozzuto Group, a diversified real estate company founded in 1988 with a focus on community development, construction, property management, and homebuilding. He has served as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, his alma mater, as well as a board member of the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore Community Foundation, the Maryland Science Center, and Greater Baltimore Committee. Given his lengthy career and expertise in community development, he served as a Congressional appointee on the National Millennial Housing Commission and as a member of the Maryland Housing Commission.

Stevenson鈥檚 new Performing Arts Center will be located adjacent to the university鈥檚 new Philip A. Zaffere Library and will join the Manning Academic Center and the School of Design, Arts, and Communication as part of Stevenson鈥檚 North campus academic hub. The Center will serve the university鈥檚 Theatre and Media Performance program students, providing a new venue for stage productions. In addition, the Center will have performance and rehearsal space for music and choral, dance, fashion, and other fine arts events and activities. The Center will include a black box theater, box office, scene shop, music performance stage, and support spaces.
