At ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ Online, our goal is to make the process of transferring credits as smooth as possible. We understand our students come to ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ Online with a variety of experiences and backgrounds which has enabled us to become experts at guiding them through the transfer process. Students are eligible to transfer credits in a variety of ways with ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ Online.

Transfer of Undergraduate Credit Policy

Students desiring to transfer from another college and be admitted to an undergraduate degree program at ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ must submit official transcripts of all previous college records. College-level coursework completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by an organization that is a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ will accept a maximum of 70 undergraduate transfer credits from a regionally accredited community college and 90 undergraduate credits from a regionally accredited four-year institution. No more than 90 credits can be applied to degree requirements from a combination of 2-year institutions, 4-year institutions, and Credit for Prior Learning. A matriculated student must complete 30 credits of their degree at ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ.

Community Colleges and Institutions

Credit for Prior Learning

Adults returning to college may wish to investigate opportunities available to them through credit for prior learning in order to earn credit that can be applied to their degree. Students must demonstrate that from significant experiences in their lives they have acquired knowledge and/or skills and abilities that are the equivalent of learning acquired from a college course. This learning (called Prior Experiential Learning) can be the result of a variety of life experiences: employment, volunteer work, community service, travel, military service, or courses at non-collegiate institutions. StraighterLine

¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ Online accepts credit for ACE accredited courses completed with StraighterLine. StraighterLine provides adult undergraduate students an affordable and convenient option for earning credits towards their bachelor’s degree. Through StraighterLine, students can complete general education requirements that are guaranteed to transfer to SUO undergraduate degree programs. Transfer of Graduate Credit Policy

A maximum of 15 graduate credits may be transferred into a ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ Master’s degree from a previously attended, regionally accredited institution. A maximum of 6 credits may be transferred into a ¶ºÄÌÊÓƵ post-baccalaureate certificate program from a previously attended, regionally accredited institution.

An official transcript from each institution where the credits were earned must be submitted. Coursework completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by an organization that is a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and an official NACES member transcript must be submitted.
